Wedding Programs

Programs are popular with many couples today and provides a personal touch to your wedding. The typical example usually has a cover that matches the invitations, or the theme of the day, and may be done professionally or on a computer. With todays technology many brides create their own covers and even design a monogram. The program usually identifies and provides information on the bridal party, the order of the service, musical selections, poetry or readings, and meanings of the prayers and blessings. It may also include any personal messages or thank yous.

Place cards and table number cards may also be ordered along with your wedding stationery, or you can purchase these from local craft stores. The card stock is very good and then you can use calligraphy or very neat handwriting to decorate these cards.

Note cards should be ordered with your wedding stationery to be used for thank you notes or you may use note cards from a craft or stationery store for engagement or shower thank yous.

Wedding Stationary

Your invitation is the first impression your guests have of your wedding. It lays the foundation for what your guests can expect on your wedding day. The practice of delivering formal written invitations began in the mid-eighteenth century with European royalty who sent a messenger on horseback. The soiled outer envelope was thrown out and the clean inner envelope was placed on a silver tray for presentation. Today, a classic wedding invitation is still delivered in a double envelope, and is usually sent six to eight weeks before the wedding. In todays busy times and with family and friends sometimes living all over the world, todays brides sometimes send out “Save the Date” cards. These are generally sent out about six months prior to the wedding to inform guests of your plans. Perhaps your planning a destination wedding, a weekend affair, or your guests just need to make travel plans, this note should provide them with information that they need. Save the dates can be formal, fun, handwritten, or professionally done. You may want to hint at the theme for your wedding or not, it’s up to you.
